What is the best time of day to visit the Tidal Basin for an engagement session with the Cherry Blossoms?

I recommend scheduling your engagement session at the Tidal Basin for the morning, as the sun is rising. Especially during peak bloom, the Tidal Basin is very busy with sightseers excited to see the beautiful flowers. Going in the morning ensures beautiful light (essential for beautiful photos) and less people in the background of your images.

When Is Peak Bloom For The D.C. Cherry Blossoms?

Typically, peak bloom is the third or fourth week in March.   Magnolia trees also bloom around the Tidal Basin and make a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos. 

Parking At The Tidal Basin During The Cherry Blossom Festival

Parking at the Tidal Basin can be hard to find when the Cherry Blossoms are blooming. If you are able, I recommend taking an uber. If you are lucky, you can find parking in one of the nearby parking lots. Plan to arrive extra early to secure paid parking.
