The Best Locations In New York City For Engagement Photos

As a New York engagement photographer, I love helping couples navigate engagement photos in the city. In this post, I will be sharing some of my favorite locations for engagement photos in New York, as well as some tips and tricks to make the most of your time in front of the camera.

 

Engagement Photos in Central Park

Central Park is a favorite, for obvious reasons! It is a beautiful and serene haven in the midst of a bustling city and spans for miles! There are a lot of pretty spots within Central Park for photos, no matter the season.

The photos below were taken on a mix of film and digital in the summer months.

Fun tip: Bring a few props to add some personality and visual interest to your photos like a blanket, flowers, books, hand fan, etc.

Engagement Photos on the New York Subway

The NYC subway is a super fun spot to create fun memories. Here, we played with some motion blur as the train wizzed past and even took a ride to the lower east side to the Wall Street Hotel. A lot of people in NYC use the subway during their daily travels. This makes the subway a fun place to take photos while immersing yourself in the classic New York experience.

There are endless photo ops in NYC and the busy streets are the perfect backdrop for chic and editorial images. We used city bikes as props and the cross walks as a runway while we walked from Central Park to the subway.

Engagement Photos at a Swanky NYC Hotel

To end the night, we headed to the beautiful Wall Street Hotel for a change of scenery. The Wall Street Hotel is located in the financial district offering luxe amenities and modern furnishings …absolutely deserving of its 5 star title.  We incorporated some fun props like the NYC newspaper, a pair of chic Loeffler Randall heels, and a fun, tulle mini dress from By Watters.
