Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg, Virginia is the ideal backdrop for a unique wedding experience that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Maggie and Colin have known each other since grade school. While they currently live in New York City, they chose Oatlands for their wedding to honor their home state of Virginia. Maggie thoughtfully curated all of the details of her wedding day. From the invitation suite which incorporated her brother’s art, to the gown she brought back from London, everything was carefully selected.
Located in Leesburg, Virginia, Oatlands is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is a National Historic Site. This beautiful property features sprawling gardens and historic buildings. It is the ideal backdrop for a unique wedding experience that you will cherish for a lifetime. Relish in these gorgeous moments of your love story backed by the most elegant outdoor setting.
There are several airbnbs on the property, which are perfect for your entire wedding party to stay and relax all weekend! Maggie and her bridal party stayed at Little Oatlands, which is towards the back of the property. Little Oatlands includes pool access (pool party, anyone!?)
Colin and his groomsmen stayed at the newly renovated Gap House, which is on the opposite side of the property.
Oatlands can accommodate up to 300 guests in the tented pavilion reception space.
Wedding photography at this breathtaking venue can feature any part of the gardens and the grounds. Gardens full of lush trees and vibrant blooms make the perfect backdrop for beautiful photos.
This property features 4.5 acres of formal gardens, including original structures, the second-oldest greenhouse in the country, original garden dependencies, and a carriage house built in 1903. There are many places to explore, relax, and take wonderful photos that showcase your love story!
The venue creates an unforgettable, unique experience in several charming and historic event areas, including world-class catering services by Pure Perfection Catering. The Greenhouse, Tent Pavilion, Carriage House, and Gardens are all available for use for special events.
Maggie and Colin chose to have their ceremony in one of the many garden spaces under the tall magnolia tree. The scene was magical. While the harpist played, Maggie walked down the aisle on her father’s arm.
Other ceremony spaces include the greenhouse, which can accommodate up to 60 guests. The greenhouse is perfect for smaller wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours and receptions.
Right at sunset, the most magical light can be found at the top of the hill, not far from the reception tent. I recommend leaving your reception for 10-15 minutes for photos like this!
The tented pavilion at Oatlands can host up to 300 guests and has a concrete foundation that is dance party ready. Brides who book the tented pavilion also have access to the mansion bridal suite.
Other reception spaces include any of the beautiful gardens, for a magical party under the stars.
Maggie changed into a fabulous second dress during her reception and made quite an entrance! The band, Big Ray and The Kool Kats, kept the guests on the dance floor until the very last minute, even enticing an encore!
From beautifully manicured gardens for your ceremony to a tented reception space for dancing late into the night, Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg, Virginia, is the perfect destination for your wedding. Capture your unique love story in this elegant, historical garden setting!
