Until you have seen the waterfalls of Great Falls in person, you are missing out! This location is perfect for the adventurous couple that doesn’t mind climbing up a few rocks! You’ll want to bring a change of shoes/comfortable shoes.
Lake Frederick is such a beautiful spot! Have your photos taken with the lake sparkling in the background and a view of the mountains on the horizon!
For a breathtaking, colorful view of the entire Shenandoah Valley, go to Bears Den. Pack a picnic, a bottle of champagne, and enjoy the view. Bears Den is part of the Blueridge Mountains and the Appalachian trail. After a short walk down the trail, you are greeted by a gorgeous view of the Shenandoah Valley. There are rocks to climb over, so a comfortable pair of shoes/change of shoes is recommended.
Blandy Farm is one of my most favorite spots for engagement photos because it is open 365 days a year, doesn’t require a permit and is absolutely GORGEOUS! Blandy is 172 acres of trees, fields and plants of all kinds.
Wineries are perfect locations for photos because they tend to have beautiful scenery and photos in the grape vines are magical! It is also nice to sip on a chilled glass of wine if your engagement session is in the summer months. Plus, wine glasses make great props! (Okay, and maybe photos at a winery is just a good excuse to have a glass of wine…Let’s celebrate your engagement!) One of my favorite spots to recommend is Bluemont Vineyards.
Whether we take photographs on the old cobblestone streets or on the waterfront, you can never go wrong with Old Town Alex!
The beautiful white stone of the D.C. monuments makes the PERFECT backdrop for photos! If you want photos in D.C, I HIGHLY recommend a sunrise session, before the crowds arrive. I have an entire blog post dedicated to engagement photo locations in D.C.
