The Best Engagement Session Locations in Northern Virginia

In this blog post, I will be highlighting some of the best engagement session locations in Northern Virginia.

Oatlands Historic House 

Oatlands is located in Leesburg, Virginia. It has a beautiful white mansion house and gardens surrounded by fields and beautiful mountain views. Oatlands requires a $125 permit fee to photograph. Bears Den Overlook

For a breathtaking, colorful view of the entire Shenandoah Valley, go to Bears Den. Pack a picnic, a bottle of champagne, and enjoy the view. Bears Den is part of the Blueridge Mountains and the Appalachian trail. After a short walk down the trail, you are greeted by a gorgeous view of the Shenandoah Valley. There are rocks to climb over, so a comfortable pair of shoes/change of shoes is recommended.

Blandy Farm Arboretum and Botanic Garden

Blandy is one of my most favorite spots for engagement photos because it is open 365 days a year, doesn’t require a fee or a permit and is absolutely GORGEOUS! There are 172 acres of trees, fields and plants of all kinds.

Old Town Alexandria

Whether we take photographs on the old cobblestone streets or on the waterfront, you can never go wrong with Old Town Alex! These images were taken on the waterfront and at Carlyle House.
