About Morais Vineyard, A European Inspired Wedding Venue
Winemaking is an integral part of the Morais family heritage. They have been making wine for over a hundred years, starting over a century ago in Portugal. The art and skill of winemaking have since been passed down from generation to generation, and it now lives on in their spectacular winery venue here in Virginia.
Details of the Grounds
There are so many beautiful places to take advantage of throughout Morais Vineyard, almost all of which their Palacio Package includes for up to 250 guests.
From the moment you arrive, the grandeur of the old-world, exotic architecture will take your breath away. The estate is marvelous, unlike anything else you’ll find in our neck of the woods.
For your ceremony, you have three options from which to choose: the Chapel, the Pergola, and the Indoor Ceremony. The chapel is quaint and intimate, with lots of bright natural light and gorgeous stained glass windows. The Pergola is their outside offering.
You’ll make quite an entrance floating down their dramatic walkway lined with beautiful trees until you meet your partner at the stately pergola to exchange your vows. The Indoor Ceremony takes place in the spectacular ballroom, with a stage lined with arched Palladian windows that let in a flood of natural light.
The Reception & More
Your reception will also occur in the ballroom, with expansive hardwood floors, six champagne leaf chandeliers, and elaborately hand-painted Portuguese tiles. You don’t need much more to make this space feel more gorgeous and grand than it already is. Still, it’s also the perfect space to customize with your own florals and décor for a look that is distinctly you. The Ballroom also has a beautiful balcony that overlooks the space and a beautiful spiraling staircase perfect for dramatic wedding portraits.
In addition to the ballroom, two private terraces overlook the winery’s pond and vineyards. Their glowing courtyard is perfect for a cocktail hour or a stylish send-off at the night’s end. The Bar Room is a contemporary twist on an old-world wine cellar, perfect for your guests to have a drink and a moment of quiet away from the dance floor (and totally in addition to the satellite bar in the ballroom!)
Last but not least, their elegant Bridal Suite is spacious with beautiful windows, elegant vanities, and plenty of comfortable seating, perfect for having hair and makeup done in preparation for the big day. Don’t worry – there’s space for your partner and their party to
get ready, too!

Wedding Details
When it comes to food and beverage, Morais Vineyard is fairly flexible. They have a list of strongly suggested caterers, but you can go off-list for an additional fee. As part of your wedding contract, you must purchase at least five cases of wine, and Morais Vineyards wines are the only wine allowed to be served. You can absolutely bring in your own beer and liquor, however, as long as you acquire a one-day special event ABC license!
Morais Vineyards also requires you to use a wedding coordinator. Similarly to their catering policy, they have a list of strongly suggested coordinators for you to use. Still, you can also hire your own for an additional fee.
